The mountains of beautiful Virginia will be ablaze with color this fall and we’ll be there to take it all in! From the Blue Ridge Parkway to the pretty Roanoke Valley area, we’ll take in the sites, the scenery, and all the splendor of this wonderful season. We’ll travel to the Bedford area of the state and site see from there. Our tour highlights include
- Three night stay in the Bedford area with its central location to the mountains
- Visit to the D-Day Memorial, which memorializes the valor and sacrifice of the D-Day participants. Bedford had more causalities than any other town its size in the country. The Victory Plaza there is a testament to all who served. Perched high above the city, it’s a beautiful spot for a memorial to the many who served. It’s breathtaking.
- City tour of Bedford, with its National Historic Register distinction of its’ downtown. It’s absolutely charming.
- Travel along the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway with lunch at the Peaks of Otter Lodge, one of the most scenic spots along the Parkway. They have a spectacular view from the dining room there overlooking Sharp Top and Flat Top, which make up the ‘Peaks’. It’s an amazing stop!
- Visit to Emerson Creek Pottery, with its Early American designs which have been made in this area for generations.
- Visit to a local apple orchard, in operation since the turn of the century.
- Visit to a local winery, nestled among the foothills of the mountains.
- Lunch cruise on the Virginia Dare, where we’ll enjoy a wonderful cruise around beautiful Smith Mountain Lake, the most popular lake in Virginia.
- Shopping in pretty and historic Centertown area of Bedford
- Dinner in the historic train depot in pretty downtown Bedford
This trip will feature some great stops, beautiful mountain views, historic towns, lake experience, and just absolutely wonderful scenery. If you enjoy the mountains and the fall, don’t miss this trip!
Price: $499 per person double, $479 per person triple, $629 per person single

deluxe motorcoach, hotel with luggage handling, all tours, all admissions, riverboat ride, scenic drives, 3 breakfasts, 2 dinners, 2 lunches, and tour director. Driver and guide tip not included.
